Cynical Independence Day greetings: Lukashenko wished “peace” and mentioned the “value of neighborliness”
Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko cynically congratulated Ukrainians on Independence Day and again offered to mediate in ending the war unleashed by Russia.
This was reported by his press service.
Lukashenka said that “many generations of Belarusians and Ukrainians have lived in harmony and respect for centuries,” “traded, created families and raised children.” Lukashenko also mentioned the “fight against fascism” and the “first postwar five-year plans.”
“We must use the value of our neighborhood to end the confrontation. The Belarusian side is ready to do everything necessary for this and even more. I believe that we can do it,” the Belarusian dictator said.
In addition, he cynically expressed his wish that “the priceless peace that all people of good will need so much” would prevail in Ukraine.
It is important to note that earlier, in an interview with a pro-Russian propagandist, Oleksandr Lukashenko confirmed that at the beginning of the war, the Russian army entered Ukraine through Belarus. He also noted that these actions had “a certain significance.”
