The Dana-M2 is a modernization of the Czechoslovakian ShKH vz. 77 Dana. The artillery unit received a new cockpit, fire control system and automated firing mode. The vehicle commander only needs to enter the target data. The chassis for the Dana-M2 is made by Tatra 815 VP 31M 8×8.

The caliber of the artillery is 152 mm. The maximum range of fire can reach up to 25.5 km, but it depends on the type of ammunition. In early 2023, the media reported that Ukraine could receive modernized Dana-M2 self-propelled guns. At the time, the network showed a tractor on which an artillery unit was loaded, allegedly for delivery to Ukraine.
