Dacia showed an all-terrain vehicle for traveling in nature

The Dacia concept is presented: an electric SUV with a plastic body and a washable interior. Removable seat covers that can be used as a sleeping bag.

In the budget department, Renault decided to go beyond the available framework, developing the Manifesto. It’s an unconventional concept car that won’t go into production, but the Romanian marque says the electric show car underscores its intention to cater to the outdoorsy traveler. It received new branding with a revised DC logo on the front and a massive ‘DACIA’ lettering on the back.

It embodies the ‘less is more’ theme as it has no ‘extra’ body panels such as doors, windows or windscreen. Besides, who needs two headlights when one is enough? In the novelty, the infotainment system was also abandoned. Instead, you’ll be using your own smartphone, just as you can in the lower trim levels of the Sandero supermini and the Logan subcompact sedan.

To make a point, the Manifesto is designed for adventure seekers. The interior is washable, and the seat covers can be removed and turned into a sleeping bag. In addition, to increase its versatility, Dacia has developed a modular roof with removable beams. Speaking of things you can easily remove, the removable battery turns the Manifesto into a power source, similar to some modern EVs that have bi-directional charging. The single headlight can also be pulled out and used as a flashlight.

The few body panels it has are made from recycled plastic, and the interior uses cork on the dashboard. Another cool feature is the use of airless tires, so you don’t have to worry about punctures when you’re out in the woods. Large all-terrain tires and huge ground clearance give the Manifesto the ability to go anywhere, just like a buggy.

It would be great for Dacia to introduce a product even remotely similar to the Manifesto, but the brand will remain focused on offering some of the cheapest cars money can buy.
