Defense forces have completely liberated Klishchiyivka, but Russians are trying their best to retake the village

On Sunday, September 17, the Ukrainian Defense Forces completely liberated Klishchiyivka in Donetsk region, but the enemy continues to try to capture the town.

This was reported by representatives of the united assault brigade of the National Police “Rage”.

“We, the soldiers of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade, the 5th separate assault brigade, and the joint assault brigade of the National Police of Ukraine “Luty”, have fulfilled the task and liberated the village of Klishchiyivka, Donetsk region, from the Russian occupiers. However, the enemy continues to try to capture the settlement, using all possible means of fire. But we are standing strong, firm and confident, because this is our land,” the brigade said.

The liberation of the settlement was confirmed by the commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.

“Bakhmut sector. Klishchiyivka has been cleared of Russians and liberated by the forces of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade, the 5th separate assault brigade, and the Joint Assault Brigade of the National Police of Ukraine “Luty,” he writes.

Earlier, the press service of Luta told Suspilne about active hostilities in Klishchiyivka.

“Active assault operations are underway in Klishchiyivka, and we cannot confirm one hundred percent control over the settlement as of now,” the statement said at 16:17.

The spokesman for the 3rd separate assault brigade, Oleksandr Borodin, believes that after the liberation of the settlements around Bakhmut, the Russians will be forced to retreat from the city itself, as there will be no point in holding it if the flanks fall.
