Denmark hands over first batch of German Leopard 1A5 main battle tanks to Ukraine
In the middle of the summer, Denmark and Germany announced that they were about to deliver Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine. The first batch of combat vehicles has already been delivered.
At the end of winter, Denmark announced plans to provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with Leopard 1A5s together with Germany and the Netherlands. The start of deliveries was announced the day before by the Ministry of Defense of the Scandinavian country.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine received the first batch of Leopard 1A5 tanks, consisting of 10 German tanks. In total, Ukraine is to receive about 100 combat vehicles.
Tank crews are trained in Germany. Denmark has sent its instructors to work with German specialists to speed up the transfer of Leopard 1A5s to Ukraine.
