Disney commented on why Mstislav Chernov’s speech was cut from the Oscars TV version

Disney Entertainment explained why they did not include the awarding of the film 20 Days in Mariupol in the shortened international version of the Oscars. According to the Voice of America, the decision to cut back was made a few weeks ago and was due to time constraints.

The company refers to the fact that the nominations were selected during the planning process, which was in late February. The names of the winners were not yet known.

“However, a summary of all the missed winners, including 20 Days in Mariupol, is included in the shortened version,” Disney Entertainment said.

At the same time, the representatives emphasized that the licenses to broadcast the full and shortened 90-minute versions of the ceremony in Ukraine were granted to the Public Broadcasting Company.
