Drones made of “aircraft cardboard” are produced in Ukraine
On August 27, drones made of cardboard attacked the Russian air base in Khalino. As it turned out, they were manufactured by a Ukrainian company cooperating with the SBU. This was reported by journalist Yuriy Butusov.
Initially, it was assumed that the military airfield was attacked by PPDS drones, which are officially supplied to Ukraine from Australia by SYPAQ. Butusov’s sources claim that the aircraft involved in the operation were of similar design. They were developed by specialists of a Ukrainian company. Thus, the Australian PPDS drones had nothing to do with the attack on the airfield.
The fuselage of the UAV is made of “aircraft cardboard”. As a result, the visibility of drones to enemy radars has decreased. The GPS signal is not used for targeting. Thus, it is impossible to jam a cardboard strike drone with electronic warfare equipment.
The drones are equipped with directed-energy warheads. Each UAV carries 1,000 impressive elements made of tungsten carbide. They turn ground targets into a sieve.
By the way, SYPAQ drones are also actively used by the Defense Forces. On July 26, the Russian media published photos of a downed UAV made of cardboard modified to strike. There is a MON-50 mine in the fuselage of the UAV. The VP-2a radio detonator is mounted on the wing. It is not known how the drone is aimed at the target.
