Elon Musk “told advertisers who left X to go to hell” (video)

Musk’s recent controversial posts and comments about Jews have led to a strong outflow of advertisers from X/Twitter, including such giants as Apple and Disney. At the conference, Elon made an attempt to apologize, but something went wrong, and instead the billionaire simply told the advertisers to go to hell.

“If someone tries to blackmail me with advertising, blackmail me with money, then go to hell. Go to hell. Is that clear? I hope so,” Musk unexpectedly said and then addressed Disney CEO Bob Iger, who had previously spoken at the same event. “Hey, Bob, if you’re in the audience.”

Musk also said that if advertisers don’t return, “this ad boycott will kill the company.”

“Everyone on Earth will know this. We are going to die, and it’s because of the advertiser boycott.”

Two weeks ago, Musk called the anti-Semitic post “factual truth” and since then, more than 100 brands have stopped advertising with his social network. According to The New York Times, the company risks losing $75 million by the end of the year.

“I shouldn’t have answered that person,” Musk said. “Basically, I handed over a loaded weapon to those who hate me and probably to those who are anti-Semites, and I am very sorry. I didn’t mean to do that.”
