Ex-White House chief of staff on Trump: He considers veterans losers and admires murderous dictators

In an interview with CNN, former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly spoke about former US President Donald Trump’s attitude toward his fellow citizens, describing it as “cynical.” He also mentioned how Trump called veterans “losers” and admired murderous dictators.

According to Kelly, Trump is a man who “believes that those who defend their country in uniform or have been killed or seriously wounded in combat or spend years being tortured as prisoners of war are ‘suckers’ because ‘they have nothing to gain.

“A man who didn’t want to be seen in the presence of amputee soldiers because ‘it’s a bad influence on me. A person who spoke about how our dearest heroes who gave their lives defending America are “losers,” he described the former president.

According to the former White House chief of staff, Trump is “incapable of understanding why the American public honors former prisoners of war and those who died in combat.”

He recalled that Trump called even former Senator John McCain, who was once a prisoner of war in Vietnam, and former President George W. Bush, who served as a pilot during World War II and was shot down, “losers.”

Kelly said that Trump also spoke badly about women, minorities, Jews, and evangelical Christians.

“A man who has no idea what America stands for and no idea what America is. A man who admires autocrats and murderous dictators. A man who has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our constitution, and the rule of law,” Kelly summarized.
