Explosions in 6 regions of Russia and Crimea: Russians claim a large-scale UAV attack (photos, video)

The explosions took place in the Moscow, Ryazan, Kaluga, Orel, Bryansk and Pskov regions of Russia. The occupiers also announced a drone attack on Sevastopol Bay.

On the night of August 30, explosions occurred in a number of regions of the Russian Federation and on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula.

Moscow region

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that an “airplane-type UAV” was intercepted over the territory of the Ruzsky district of Moscow region at night.

The mayor of the Russian capital, Sergei Sobyanin, also wrote about the attack. He confirmed that one drone was destroyed in the Ruzhsky district, which was moving in the direction of Moscow. According to the mayor, there were no casualties or damage.

“Last night, an attempt was made to launch a massive drone attack in the Central Federal District,” Sobyanin said.

The Astra Telegram channel reported that Moscow’s Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Vnukovo airports have reintroduced the Carpet Mode.

Ryazan region

The Russian Defense Ministry said that an attempted UAV attack was allegedly foiled in the Ryazan region. According to the ministry, the drone was destroyed by regular air defense systems.

The information about the explosion in Ryazan was confirmed by RIA Novosti. The publication also published a corresponding video.

A few hours later, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the interception of another drone in the Ryazan region.

Kaluga region

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, one unmanned aerial vehicle was destroyed by regular air defense systems in the Kaluga region. The media and local authorities did not comment on the incident.

Oryol region

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, one drone was shot down over the territory of the Oryol region.

For his part, the governor of the Oryol region, Andrey Klychkov, said that two drones were destroyed in the region. According to him, there were no casualties or damage.

Bryansk region

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that three UAVs were shot down over the territory of the Bryansk region.

A similar statement was issued by the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz. The official also added that no one was injured in the attack.

The Mash Telegram channel reported that one of the drones shot down over Bryansk fell on the Silicon EL plant. The company is listed among the largest microelectronics manufacturers in Russia.

According to the Baza Telegram channel, a fire broke out at the plant due to falling debris. The fire covered 40 square meters in the 16th building of the enterprise.



Pskov region

The governor of the Pskov region, Mikhail Vedernikov, said that the Pskov airport was struck by drones.

The Baza Telegram channel reported that explosions and machine gun fire were heard in the village. According to the public, more than 10 drones were involved in the attack.

The Russian news outlet TASS, citing emergency services, reported that the UAV attack on the airport damaged four Il-76 aircraft, two of which caught fire.

A video posted by the Pskovskaya Guberniya Telegram channel says that the Cherekhino military base could also have been hit.

According to the SOTA Telegram channel, the base is the location of the 104th Guards Air Assault Regiment, which in 2022 took part in war crimes in Bucha.

Occupied Crimea

A representative of the occupation administration of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, said that a drone attack from the sea was allegedly being repelled in the area of Sevastopol Bay.

The Crimean Wind Telegram channel reported that explosions and shooting were heard in the Nakhimovsky district of Sevastopol. According to local publics, maritime drones have joined the UAVs.
