F-35C fighter jet with an unusual “mirror” coating was spotted on a US aircraft carrier (photo)
A new F-35C Lightning II aircraft with an unusual “mirror” finish, part of the 125th Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA), was spotted approaching an aircraft carrier. The ship was in the Pacific Ocean at the time.
Very interesting photos of an F-35C landing on the USS Abraham Lincoln off the coast of California yesterday.
The jet was outfitted with the mirror-like coating previously seen on other F-35s (as well as F-22s and F-117s) on its tails and wings. I think this is the first…

As reported by The Aviationist, this is the first time that an F-35 with a “mirror” finish has been seen aboard an aircraft carrier. The coating is believed to reduce the aircraft’s visibility.
Even more interesting is the fact that the aircraft was photographed taking off on November 30, 2023, on the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), which left San Diego earlier that day and is now conducting routine operations in the Pacific.
