Fedorov shows off the Iron Knight robot assault vehicle

Recently, the Ironclad unmanned robot was tested at the frontline. It was designed by engineers from the Ukrainian company Roboneers. Mykhailo Fedorov posted this on Facebook.

Ironclad literally means “Iron Knight”. The Defense Forces will use such robotic platforms to perform various combat missions such as assaulting enemy positions, conducting reconnaissance, and providing fire support to infantry units.

Ironclad can travel at speeds of up to 20 km/h. The robot is equipped with a thermal imaging camera. It was equipped with a Sabre M2 combat turret. An armored carapace protects the robotic platform from enemy small arms. You can use the remote control to control it.

The first combat robot was designed in 2018. He looked little like a modern Iron Knight. During the modernization, the platform was equipped with more massive wheels, a cargo compartment and a combat module. The robot’s body has become more rounded. According to the developers, Ironclad can be used as a separate combat unit or in tandem with various vehicles, drones, and intelligence systems.
