Agility Robotics opens a new factory called RoboFab in Oregon, USA. He will specialize in more than 10 thousand bipedal robots per year.
The company announced this on its website.
The 6,500-square-meter plant will employ about 500 workers. The company’s famous bipedal robot, Digits, will also be manufactured at the new plant. It will be used to move and unload warehouse goods.
The first deliveries of Digits are expected in 2024 for some customers, and its introduction to the general market is planned for 2025. Agility Robotics aims to solve the problems of the modern workforce by creating robots that can help prevent injuries and burnout, reduce employee turnover, and fill gaps in the workplace.
The production of bipedal robots is rare in the industry, and it remains to be seen whether Agility Robotics will be able to outperform its competitors, such as Boston Dynamics’ Atlas and Tesla’s Optimus.
