For the first time in history, foreign ministers of all EU countries gather in Ukraine
The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, announced a historic meeting of EU foreign ministers. It will be held in Kyiv for the first time.
According to Borrell on the social network X (formerly Twitter), this will be the first meeting of EU foreign ministers outside the bloc.
“Today I am bringing EU foreign ministers to Kyiv for the first ever meeting of all 27 member states outside the EU. Ukraine’s future is in the EU,” Borrell said.
The unique EU Council is expected to discuss Ukraine’s integration into the EU, demonstrate support and take stock of some important measures, such as Western military aid and further strengthening of sanctions against Russia.
On the sidelines of the event, the EU foreign ministers will meet with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
