For the first time in history, the United States deployed B-52H Stratofortress nuclear bombers to Indonesia

Recently, the US Air Force returned nuclear-powered B-52H Stratofortress bombers to the Indo-Pacific region. The planes arrived on the island of Guam and then visited Indonesia for the first time in history.

The United States continues to carry out joint actions with partners in the Indo-Pacific region amid concerns about a possible conflict in the region involving China. The US Air Force has not yet disclosed the details of the B-52H deployment to Indonesia.

OSINT experts reported that the Stratofortress landed at Kualanam International Airport. Later, the Indonesian Air Force confirmed the arrival of two nuclear bombers, which arrived accompanied by F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters.

The B-52Hs arrived in Indonesia from the Andersen base on the island of Guam. The home of strategic aviation aircraft is the Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota.

Nuclear bombers are expected to take part in joint exercises between the United States and Indonesia. The event, called Cope West 2023, started last week and will last until June 23. Six American F-16 fighter jets and 100 military personnel, as well as seven Indonesian Air Force aircraft, are involved in the exercise.
