For the first time in Ukraine. Artificial intelligence used to diagnose brain diseases

Odesa has become the first city in Ukraine to launch a pilot project to use artificial intelligence to diagnose brain diseases or injuries. This experience will be expanded in frontline cities.

As part of the BrainScan project, a neural network automatically analyzes brain computed tomography images and detects any pathological changes. Thanks to this system, the doctor can make a decision on further treatment in just 5 minutes after processing the image. This speeds up the diagnostic process twice as much as traditional methods and can be crucial in situations where every minute counts for the patient.

“The future belongs to such technologies that can be used in diagnostics as an independent expert “second opinion” for quick response and decision-making,” says Anastasia Mudrova, a radiologist of the highest category.

The Ministry of Health emphasizes that the introduction of artificial intelligence for analyzing computed tomography of the brain has shown good results. After the successful experience of using the neural network to diagnose patients in Odesa, it has now been applied in the frontline city of Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast.
