Forbes calculates how many Ukrainian HIMARS systems were destroyed by the Russian army
The HIMARS system detected by Russian drones near Bakhmut was able to avoid the Russians’ “response” due to its fast speed. Thus, all 39 missile systems of this type in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to remain in service and destroy the occupiers, Forbes reports.
HIMARS systems provide Ukraine with significant advantages in artillery fire due to their mobility and long-range capability. The combat vehicle detected by the drone the day before successfully fired back and hid in a forested area, avoiding Russian counter-battery fire.
According to military experts, the occupiers’ artillery cannot respond promptly to the Ukrainian army’s shelling due to a large number of bureaucratic delays (while the Russians are sending a request to open fire and waiting for a positive response, Ukrainian jets manage to leave the target area). Thus, the effect of the occupiers’ use of reconnaissance drones is coming to naught.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of two HIMARS units at once, citing a video from an Orlan-10 drone as evidence. However, Forbes experts consider this statement to be disinformation.
