From May 1, gasoline and diesel fuel will be sold in Ukraine according to new standards
The Verkhovna Rada has promised to sell gasoline and diesel fuel with the addition of 10% of biofuels from May 1.
The Verkhovna Rada approved the draft law “On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine and Other Legislative Acts Concerning the Single Contribution and Accounting for Denatured Ethyl Alcohol and Chemical and Technical Products”.
Two hundred seventy people’s deputies voted for the adoption of the relevant bill №7233 in the first reading, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
The document provides for a reduction in value added tax (VAT) on alternative fuels from 20% to 7% and zeroing the excise tax. Relevant standards for “regular” gasoline and diesel fuel during martial law were introduced earlier.
In addition, it is proposed to amend the Law “On Alternative Fuels”, according to which the share of mandatory use of liquid biofuels (biocomponents) in gasoline from May 1, 2022, must be at least 10%.
Exceptions will be gasoline with an octane number of 98 and higher, as well as gasoline for the needs of the Ministry of Defense, the State Reserve and the creation of minimum stocks of petroleum products.
For non-compliance with the norms of biofuel content in gasoline for every 1 thousand liters of gasoline released, it is proposed to impose a fine of seven subsistence minimums. For violation of the deadlines for providing information on the content of biofuels up to seven days, it is proposed to impose a fine of 100 subsistence minimums, more than seven days – 150 subsistence minimums.
