Full-size model of “invisible drone” spotted in China GJ-11 Sharp Sword (photo)

A model of the Chinese unmanned aerial vehicle GJ-11 Sharp Sword was shown on a satellite image.

This was reported by The War Zone.

The appearance of the drone on the new satellite images may indicate that the GJ-11 will become part of the future air wing on Chinese aircraft carriers. The Chinese army will have the capabilities that the US army already has. The model was photographed in Wuhan. The analysts found that it was a Sharp Sword drone on the satellite image. Next to it were J-15 fighters and J-35 UAVs.

The mockup is used to assess the drone’s capabilities for use at sea, including how it will approach and move on the deck of an aircraft carrier. In addition, developers can use it to test for radio emissions and other things. The authors note that the UAV can become a deck drone on the aircraft carrier 003 Fujian. It was launched in June 2022. It will be equipped with a catapult for launching aircraft, which will allow the Sharp Sword to be launched as well.

The authors of the publication have been recording the possible connection of the GJ-11 with the Navy since 2019. The Chinese army is testing several models for the role of a deck drone. The product can be used for both reconnaissance and strike missions, including electronic warfare.
