The Radar brand, which is owned by the Chinese company Geely, revealed the characteristics of its first electric pickup RD6 and showed the interior of the model.
Geely Holding launched the Radar brand in July this year, and at the same time showed its first model – the RD6 electric pickup truck. This is a truck for active recreation, addressed to residents of large cities and built on the SEA platform.
In terms of size, the RD6 can be compared with Toyota Hilux or Isuzu D-Max pickups. The model will be offered with a two-row cabin and a cargo platform 1,525 millimeters long, and the passport carrying capacity of the pickup truck will be 755 kilograms.
Four 220 volt sockets are installed in the body of the electric pickup truck. They can be used to power any household appliances – from a kettle to an air conditioner and an electric grill. The maximum output power is 6 kW. Hermetic compartments under the hood (70 liters) and rear seats (48 liters) are provided to accommodate the hiking treasure. At the same time, the front panel and the central console are borrowed from the Geely HaoYue crossover.
There will be only one power plant for now: a 272 hp rear electric motor. and a traction battery with a capacity of 85.9 kWh with an operating voltage of 352 volts. According to unconfirmed information, the pickup accelerates to ‘hundreds’ in about six seconds, and the driving range on one charge exceeds 600 kilometers. More powerful versions may appear later in the range, but nothing has been announced about them yet.
However, it is known that a wide range of accessories has been prepared for the RD6. In addition to branded surfboards, it will include a hard cover of the cargo platform, a mini-fridge and a radio. In China, sales of the electric pickup truck will begin by the end of this year.
