General Staff confirms Russian offensive on Avdiivka: Up to three battalions with equipment attacked
The Russian occupiers were advancing in the area of Avdiivka with up to three battalions supported by tanks and armored vehicles. This was reported in a report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The military says that 108 combat engagements took place on the frontline over the past day.
Near Avdiivka, the Russians attacked in the areas of the city itself, Tonenke, Keramik and Pervomayske, while Ukrainian soldiers repelled all attacks and did not lose ground.
Over 10 attacks were also repelled in the areas of Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, Zolota Niva and Volodymyrne.
Ukrainian aviation conducted 11 strikes on areas where personnel, equipment and weapons were concentrated, and nine on anti-aircraft missile systems. A Su-25 fighter jet and seven reconnaissance drones were destroyed.
The rocket and artillery men hit a control center, an ammunition depot, three areas of concentration of the Russian army, seven artillery pieces and an electronic warfare station.
- On October 10, the commander of the Tavrian direction reported that the Russian occupiers had increased their activity, and that fighting was ongoing in the Tavrian direction.
- The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the occupants are advancing in the areas of Donetsk, Kreminna and Kupyansk, the Defense Forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut, and have partial success in the area of Andriivka.
- On October 9, the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced that Russian occupants’ losses in the Zaporizhzhia sector had decreased due to the worsening weather.
