General Staff of Armed Forces of Ukraine Exposes Russia’s Lies About Energy Facility Attacks

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine strongly refuted false statements by the Russian Ministry of Defense regarding Kyiv’s alleged violation of the ceasefire conditions on energy facilities. The Ukrainian side emphasizes the absence of strikes on energy infrastructure and exposes another attempt by the Kremlin to manipulate facts.

Manipulations and Facts About the Energy Truce

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine strongly rejected accusations from the Russian Ministry of Defense regarding Ukraine’s violation of the ceasefire conditions on energy facilities. According to Espreso, Ukrainian military categorically denied all statements of the aggressor.

Ukraine’s Defense Forces confirmed that on March 25-26, they did not carry out any drone attacks on energy facilities in Russia’s Kursk and Bryansk regions. Additionally, no strikes were conducted on energy infrastructure in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The General Staff emphasizes that the military department of the aggressor country is spreading false and groundless accusations to prolong the war and continue its deceptive propaganda.

It should be noted that on March 25, a new round of negotiations between Ukrainian and American delegations took place in Riyadh. As a result of the meeting, Kyiv, Washington, and Moscow reached an agreement on ensuring safe navigation in the Black Sea.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the possibility of implementing a ceasefire regime regarding energy infrastructure starting March 25, emphasizing that this issue was coordinated with the US. However, he warned that there would be a very short window of opportunity from the start of the ceasefire until reaching an agreement to end the war, as the Kremlin constantly violates agreements.

On March 26, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine confirmed the coordination of ‘energy truce’ conditions with the American side. The agreements cover the electric power and oil and gas complexes, nuclear and coal industries, as well as power engineering.

Ukraine consistently adheres to international agreements, while Russia continues its disinformation campaign. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine remains vigilant and ready to protect Ukraine’s national interests.
