Golka air defense system equipped with Guide tk 431 thermal imagers (video)

The Technari team and the Serhiy Prytula Foundation handed over a batch of 100 Guide tk 431 thermal imagers and special mounts to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. They were mounted on the Golka man-portable air defense system. Gennadiy Suldin, a representative of the team, announced this on Facebook.

The availability of thermal imagers will allow MANPADS operators to use them in the dark. Thus, their capabilities in terms of intercepting air targets will be significantly expanded. They will be able to hit cruise missiles and attack drones even at night.

Technari spent about three months developing special mounts for thermal imaging sights. They were tested by the Ukrainian military in the field. The foundation founded by Prytula purchased a batch of 100 thermal imagers. Along with the mounts, they were handed over to air defense units and naval units of the South Air Command.

The Golka man-portable air defense system was developed during the Soviet era. It allows you to engage low-flying targets on parallel and oncoming courses. The system consists of a launch container, a 9P516 launcher and a 9P39 anti-aircraft missile. Only one soldier is needed to launch a missile.

“Needle” can hit targets at a distance of up to 5 km. The effective ceiling of the complex is 3.5 km. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have successfully used the “Needle” to intercept Kalibr and X-101.
