Google Cloud is looking for specialists in the new Web3 team
Google Cloud has been interested in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology for several months. Alphabet is now seeking a new candidate to lead its marketing strategy and move to Web3.
In a recently published offer, Google Cloud announces the opening of the position of “Head of Product Marketing”. The candidate will be responsible for disseminating information about the company’s initiatives in the field of Web3. As explained in the vacancy, the main focus is on marketing and product demonstrations to new customers:
“In this role, you will be responsible for key aspects of marketing aimed at building the Google Cloud in the community, the corporate community, and the developer community. You will manage the whole process from awareness and consideration […] to the creation of consumer demand.”
Candidates are limited to New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Sunnyvale.
Although Google is one of the kings of Web 2.0, it doesn’t seem so easy to give up its place in the Web3 revolution. On the contrary, the American giant explains that as a technology company, it also wants to take part in this revolution.
In an announcement earlier this year, Google Cloud even said it was inspired by what has been achieved and is being created in this area:
“We are inspired by the work our clients are already doing in the cryptocurrency space, and we look forward to providing the infrastructure and technology to support the blockchain’s capabilities.”
At that time, Google Cloud announced the creation of a team dealing with decentralized technology and blockchain. The goal was clear: to support all interesting initiatives, from checking nodes and chain management to helping users place their nodes in the cloud.
The Director of Marketing, who is wanted by Google Cloud, will join this newly formed team. The team is led by Rohit Bhat, the subsidiary’s director of capital markets and cryptocurrencies.
