Google opens a new page: Bard chatbot becomes Gemini, with a new Android app
The company introduced its new multimodal AI model Gemini at the end of 2023 and has already integrated it into some products, including the Bard chatbot launched last year.
At the same time, according to the change log leaked on X, Google is also planning to change the name of Bard to Gemini.
Among other things, the leak reports that a separate Gemini app for Android will appear “soon”, and the paid Gemini Advanced tariff will be released on February 7 – it will give users access to the Gemini Ultra 1.0 model, which is “more capable of performing complex tasks such as coding, logical thinking, following fine-grained instructions, and creative collaboration.
Gemini Advanced will be available in more than 150 countries and will be optimized for English at the beginning. The changelog also states that Gemini will expand to Canada with this release.

The availability in Canada is awesome! That said I don’t really understand the limitations with the app. That’s disappointing as someone who lives in Europe.
