Google renamed Bard chatbot Gemini and united all AI products under this brand
Google has announced the rebranding of its artificial intelligence technologies. Now all of them will be united under the Gemini name.
In particular, the Bard chatbot changed its name to Gemini, and AI functions in Google Workspace office applications, previously known as Duet AI, also became part of the Gemini portfolio.
In addition, Google has released a special Gemini mobile application for Android. It can be set as the default assistant instead of Google Assistant. There is no app for iOS yet.
Another important update is the launch of the Gemini Ultra 1.0 model. Today, it is the most functional AI system of Google. It provides enhanced chatbot capabilities, including better work with multimedia and logic tasks.
Access to Gemini Ultra is provided as part of the Gemini Advanced paid subscription, which is included in the new Google One AI Premium tariff plan costing $20 per month. It also includes 2 TB of Google Drive storage and all other features of the Google One subscription.
According to Sissie Hsiao, head of AI at Google, Gemini will be an important milestone on the way to creating a “true AI assistant” and may eventually become as important for the company as search.
