Google started blurring explicit images in image search

If you see blurry images in Google Images, you shouldn’t worry about your eyesight. The search giant has simply enabled safe search mode for everyone. Now, thanks to active SafeSearch, sexually explicit images and content are blurred so that they cannot be seen.

The search engine giant announced the innovation in its blog post on parental control and child safety on the Internet in the Asia-Pacific region. In it, Google confirmed that the change to blurring content in Search is now available to “everyone.”

This setting doesn’t change anything for Google Search other than the default settings. All Google accounts will now see SafeSearch settings to blur out content that is sexually explicit, contains graphic violence, or contains similarly objectionable or sensitive content.

This applies to all Google accounts, whether controlled or not, and to those who use search without signing in or in anonymous browsing mode.
