Google Workspace will remain free for Ukrainian businesses until the end of the war
Since July, Google had to block all users who have not switched to a paid subscription ($5 to $18 per month for each account), but an exception will be made for small and medium-sized Ukrainian businesses. The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine agreed with Google to maintain free access for Ukrainian entrepreneurs.
These Google services will remain free for Ukrainian businesses at least until the end of the full-scale war and the victory of the Ukrainian people over the Russian invaders.
Google Workspace (formerly known as G Suite and Google Apps for Work or Google Apps for Your Domain) is a subscription-based package of specialized cloud-based software and collaboration tools from Google. It is a direct competitor of Microsoft Office. The Google Workspace package includes Google’s core web apps like Gmail, Contacts, Calendar, Meet, and Chat for communication, as well as Google Docs for content creation and Drive for storage. In 2020, Google carried out a large-scale rebranding, renaming the package to Workspace. At the beginning of the year, Google launched a free Workspace plan for businesses with a partial package of features – Essentials Starter.
