On the night of May 1, drones attacked the Ryazan and Voronezh regions of Russia, causing the Ryazan refinery to catch fire. The new attack by Ukraine has already been officially confirmed by the governor of the Ryazan region, Pavel Malkov, and the governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev.
According to local residents, a powerful strike on the refinery took place around three in the morning. According to them, at first they heard a hum, and then two explosions occurred.

Malkov also claimed that one drone had been shot down. It is worth noting that the official did not disclose the number of UAVs that flew to the Ryazan refinery.
Gusev later said that on Wednesday night, two drones were shot down over the territory of Voronezh region. He also added that one of them was shot down in the suburbs of Voronezh and another in the Voronezh region.
What is important to understand is that the Ryazan Oil Refinery is controlled by Rosneft. Most refined products are exported. In addition, it is noted that this is the third largest refinery among Russian refineries, which can process more than 17 million tons of oil per year.
