Greece considers transferring dozens of F-16 fighters to Ukraine
In addition to the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, and Norway, another European country may provide Ukraine with F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets.
We are talking about Greece. This was reported by a source to Al Jazeera. Greece plans to decommission 32 F-16 Block-30 aircraft. Most likely, they will then be sent to the United States for modernization and then handed over to the Ukrainian army.
It is noted that Greece plans to upgrade its current F-16 fighters to the Block-70 modification, as well as to purchase 24 Dassault Rafale aircraft from France. In addition, a US Congressional committee has authorized Athens to buy up to 40 fifth-generation F-35 fighters.
Unfortunately, Greece has not yet officially commented on the delivery of F-16s to Ukraine.
By the way, a total of 80 aircraft have been promised to Ukraine: 6 will be provided by Norway, 19 by Denmark, 25 by the Netherlands, and 30 by Belgium. The first deliveries are due to start this summer.
