During his speech in Arizona, US President Joe Biden called former President Donald Trump and his supporters “extremists.”
According to him, “something dangerous is happening in the United States.”
“There is an extremist movement that does not share the core beliefs of our democracy: the MAGA movement,” Biden said, referring to Trump’s slogan “Make America Great Again.”
He noted that today’s Republican Party is “run and intimidated by MAGA extremists.”
“Their extreme agenda, if implemented, would fundamentally alter the institutions of American democracy as we know them,” the White House chief said.
The American leader emphasized that Trump says that the US Constitution allegedly gives him the right to do whatever he wants as president.
“I have never heard presidents say this as a joke. I believe in free and fair elections and a peaceful transfer of power. I believe that there is no place for political violence in America,” he summarized.
