On Monday, September 18, a tragedy occurred in Peru, in which a passenger bus fell into an abyss after driving off a mountain road. At least 24 people were killed and at least 36 others were injured in the incident.
It is noted that the bus was heading north from Ayacucho in the south-central part of the country to Huancayo, the capital of the Junín region. Later, he fell into a 200-meter gorge in the Andes, near the city of Huancavelica.
According to La Republica newspaper, up to 36 people were injured in the accident.

According to preliminary data, the bus had the appropriate permit to transport passengers: it had compulsory accident insurance and had undergone a technical inspection.
Molina Union, the company that operates the bus route, confirmed the death toll but refused to provide further details.
Monday’s accident is reported to be the latest fatal incident on Peru’s roads, many of which are built on steep terrain in the Andes.
