Hunt for Ukrainian Artillery: British Intelligence Names the Most Effective UAV of the Occupiers

The Lancet kamikaze drone has changed Russia’s approach to the use of this type of weapon. Previously, Russia used it mainly for reconnaissance.

This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defense.

It is noted that Russia’s Lancet small unmanned aerial systems for unilateral strikes were probably one of the most effective new weapons that Russia has used in Ukraine over the past 12 months.

This drone was designed to pilot over enemy territory, waiting for a target to be identified, and then dropping down on it and exploding.

“Lancets are manufactured by ZALA Aero Group. ZALA also produces the Orlan-10, a small unarmed UAV that Russia often deploys alongside the Lancet to identify targets. Ukraine has also achieved success with small OWA UAVs,” the statement said.

Russia is deploying Lancets to attack priority targets, and they are becoming increasingly visible in the key counter-battery battle, hitting enemy artillery.

It is reported that Russia has traditionally used small drones mainly for reconnaissance. However, due to its attacking capability, the Lancet has become a step in changing the way Russia uses this category of weapon.
