Hyundai is developing a flying car with a removable drone

Hyundai is working on a flying car with a removable drone attached to the vehicle. Hyundai wants to combine two of its ideas into one design.

According to Hyundai, both land and air vehicles have limitations, and this new creation solves all their problems. Vehicles can easily move through the air when their ground movement is limited or non-existent.

The detachable drone needs to be larger because it needs enough power to transport the car by air. As soon as this “structure” lands, a ground vehicle will deliver the drone to places it cannot reach.

This new system has advantages that go beyond simply lifting the vehicle and flying. The range will not be limited, as Hyundai mentions alternative fuels such as hydrogen. Both land and air vehicles can be equipped with any of the wide range of powertrain options that Hyundai has developed or is currently developing.

The drone can be driven by a hybrid system, and it can also fly over and charge an all-electric car. Hyundai claims that this can be done via a wired or wireless connection. This would be a great solution for electric car owners who live in apartments and do not have access to a home charger. You just leave your car on the street, and the drone will come and charge it for you.

Hyundai claims that it is also ideal for cargo transportation. In this scenario, the ground vehicle will have a removable capsule where people can put their belongings. The ground vehicle can drive to a suitable location to meet the air vehicle. It will then grab the removable capsule from the car and move it much faster over a long distance.

When a car is driving in bad weather, its flying part can scan the terrain and offer solutions to the vehicle that are not available to its limited view.
