I doubted that he would survive. American researcher stuck in a 1.3 km deep cave rescued in Turkey (video)

Rescuers have carried out an operation to rescue American caver Mark Dickey from one of the deepest caves in Turkey, called Mork. Dickie had stomach problems and was locked in a cave for over a week.

The incident occurred during an expedition with several other researchers in the Morka Cave in the Taurus Mountains in southern Turkey. The caver led a group to map a new passage in the cave.

The rescuers reported that it was one of the largest and most complex underground missions, involving more than 150 people. The deepest point of the cave is 1.3 kilometers underground. The man was tied to a stretcher and slowly taken out through narrow stone tunnels. We even had to use explosives in the narrowest places.

Dickie admitted that when his condition worsened, he doubted whether he would survive. Now the man is undergoing treatment and is gradually recovering.

Mark Dickey is an experienced caver with over 20 years of experience. He worked as an instructor for the US National Cave Rescue Commission for ten years.
