In 2023, Poland will establish a HIMARS center for the maintenance and production of M142 missile systems

A HIMARS Center will be established in Poland this year. This was announced by the country’s Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak, who visited the Lockheed Martin plant in Camden, Arkansas.

The head of the Polish Ministry of Defense said that Lockheed Martin’s management is ready to cooperate with the Polish defense industry. Its strengthening is a beneficial step for the United States, as it will allow it to increase the production of missile systems.

Mariusz Blaszczak noted that the Polish HIMARS center will be operational by the end of this year. It will become a hub for the maintenance and production of the M142 highly mobile artillery missile system for Poland and other European countries.

A few months ago, the US State Department approved the sale of 18 HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems. The $10 billion contract also includes 45 ATACMS ballistic missiles and 1,514 GMLRS missiles of various modifications: GMLRS-AW, GMLRS-U and GMLRS-ER AW.
