In broad daylight: unidentified drones reach Moscow in Russia – media (video)

Russian air defense did not react to the drones that were flying freely 20 kilometers from the Kremlin. However, they were noticed and Moscow airports were temporarily closed.

Residents of the Moscow suburbs spotted drones of unknown origin flying freely in the sky. At the same time, not a single shot was heard from the air defense system, which was supposed to respond to such actions. The event was reported on Astra’s Telegram channel.

The post states that the video of the drone flight was received from residents of the city of Krasnogorsk, located on the northeastern outskirts of the Russian capital. There are two recordings: each shows a drone flying at an altitude of several tens of meters. You can see that one of the drones is an airplane-type drone – the wings are noticeable.

There is no information on where the devices were headed or what the target was. However, the shadows on the asphalt and the position of the sun suggest that in one case the UAV was moving from east to west, and in the other from north to south (approximately).

On the morning of August 31, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that Russian air defense detected and shot down drones southwest of the capital, in the Voskresensky district.

Meanwhile, the capital’s airports were temporarily closed around morning. In particular, it was alleged that 32 flights were delayed at first, and then a total of 59 flights were delayed. Four flights were canceled.

If you place the points where the drones were spotted on August 31, you can see that four international airports in the Moscow region are located near them. In particular, the distance from Krasnogorsk to Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo is 16 km and 24 km, respectively. To the west of the Voskresensky district is Domodedovo (about 30 km).
