In order to ‘deceive’ air defense, Russian missiles can change their route dozens of times
Ukrainian air defense during the last missile attack of the Russian occupying forces demonstrated a high level of efficiency – of all the missiles fired by the Russian Air Force, our anti-aircraft defense shot down about 85%, and it was a ‘combined’ launch – Kh-101 and Kh-555, ‘Kalibri’, Kh- 22, Kh-59 and even Kh-31P.
How difficult such a task can be – to shoot down dozens of enemy cruise missiles – we are told in the Eastern air command, or more precisely, an officer of the 138th anti-aircraft missile brigade named Igor.
So, as the military man says, if at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the Russians did not invent anything and simply launched missiles ‘in a straight line’, now they are actively maneuvering to complicate the work of our air defense.
‘The speed and height of the missile change. The enemy is learning and using new types of weapons and drones, but air defense is also constantly being improved,’ Igor notes.
In fact, the fact that the occupiers can ‘build’ a route for their missile in advance is not news, but a report by the London-based Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) analytical center contains interesting information that a Russian missile can change from launch to hitting the intended target your route up to 80 (!) times.
Therefore, the high percentage of downed Russian missiles once again demonstrates the professionalism of our air defense calculations, as well as, in particular, the effectiveness of modern Western anti-aircraft missile systems – according to Yuriy Ignat, the spokesman of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during the last Russian missile attack on December 5, the IRIS-T and NASAMS systems were shot down all targets aimed at – i.e. showed 100% effectiveness.
