During the first quarter of 2024, Ukrainians opened a record 74,050 new individual entrepreneurs, which is 33.6% more than last year and 18% more than before the full-scale invasion began in 2021.
This is reported by the platform for working with open data “Open Data Bot” with reference to the Unified State Register.
It is noted that Kyiv remains the leader in the number of new cases. In the first quarter of this year, 10,252 new businesses were registered in the capital, which is 13.8% of the total. Dnipropetrovs’k region is in second place with 6.8 thousand newly established businesses, and Kyiv region is in third place with 5.7 thousand new sole proprietors.
A quarter of new businesses are engaged in retail, which has been the most popular sector over the past 4 years.
Among the most popular business areas among Ukrainian entrepreneurs are personalized services and computer programming.
