In the occupied Ukrainian regions, amid preparations for the referendum, the Russians blocked Google
The American search engine is required to 'make amends and start respecting people'
The so-called “DNR” decided to block the Google search engine. This was stated by the self-proclaimed head of the illegal armed formation, Denys Pushylin.
He claims that Google “openly promotes terrorism and violence against all Russians, and especially the population of Donbas, at the behest of its curators from the American government.”
According to Pushylin, Google conducts “real harassment of Russians” and is also engaged in “imposing lies and disinformation”.
“If Google stops carrying out its criminal policy and returns to the path of law, morality and common sense, there will be no obstacles to its work,” Pushylin added.
The day before, the head of the so-called “LNR” Leonid Pasichnyk said that Google “conducts purposeful propaganda of terrorism and extremism”, and also announced the blocking of the search engine.
“We do not need such information flights: neither from Ukraine nor from the West. We can manage without Google. They will correct themselves, they will start respecting people – we will think about returning,” Pasichnik wrote in his Telegram channel.
In May, ORDLO (occupied regions) already blocked Facebook and Instagram, citing the fact that these platforms allow “calls for violence against Russian-speaking users.”
It will be recalled that Google’s representative at the UN warned of global threats related to disinformation, calling Ukraine a crystal ball that portends problems in other countries.
