“Auditors of the Ministry of Defense found almost 30,000 new high-quality SOF medical turnstiles made in the United States in the storage of one of the military units subordinate to the Medical Forces Command in Zhytomyr region,” the defense ministry said.
It is noted that these turnstiles were received in April last year, 6 months later the military unit issued the first of them to Ukrainian defenders, namely 458 units.
After the audit, the responsible officials began issuing turnstiles. Almost a third of them are now in use by the military. The Ministry of Defense noted that other medical supplies that had been stored in warehouses in large quantities for a long time have also been provided to the defenders, including individual first aid kits and backpacks for combat medics.
“The task of the Ministry of Defense’s internal audit is not only to identify and respond to cases of abuse, but also to prevent inefficient use of military resources. This will be achieved through more effective planning, enhanced accountability, and solidarity at all levels of decision-making,” said Deputy Defense Minister Yuriy Dzhyhyr.
