iOS 17.4 update causes battery drain and charging issues

The latest iPhone software update brought users more than 100 new emojis, security updates, and a number of other changes. However, some users have discovered an annoying issue that may put you off downloading iOS 17.4. Dissatisfied Apple fans took to social media to warn others that the update had severely reduced their battery life. One user claimed that their battery dropped by 40 percent in two hours of use, while another reported a 13 percent drop in the time it took to write two messages.

The latest iOS update was released recently and brought a wide range of changes and bug fixes to iPhone users. Most notably, iOS 17.4 includes 118 new emojis. It also contains a major security update for iMessage, which is designed to protect users’ messages from future attacks by quantum computers.

However, some users who have already downloaded the new software say that it has also negatively affected their battery life. Less than 24 hours after the update was released, Apple users had already contacted X (formerly Twitter), reporting that the update had led to an increase in battery consumption. They are warning those who have not yet updated to iOS 17.4 to take their time installing the new software. Battery charging also became a problem after installing iOS 17.4. One iPhone 11 Pro owner plugged his phone into an outlet with a 40% battery. Four hours later, the battery was still not fully charged, with only 94%.

Affected iPhone owners are now waiting for the next software update to fix the problem. If you have already experienced an increase in battery drain, it is recommended to wait until the update is optimized in operation. You can also try restarting the device and checking that all applications are updated to the latest versions.
