iPhone 15 Pro was recognized as the worst smartphone in terms of repairability
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max smartphones were recognized as the most beautiful devices from the inside in the phone repairability rating by the JerryRigEverything blog.
Tech expert Zach Nelson noted that Apple’s flagships look the coolest from the inside. Although he does have some comments about the company’s deceptive marketing tactics related to the titanium case.
Instead of a whole block of titanium, Apple uses only a surface layer that is applied over aluminum. However, this did not prevent the new products from being included in the repairability rating.
The most repairable smartphones of 2023
The first place in the rating was taken by Fairphone 5 smartphone. According to Nelson, each of its components can be easily replaced with a screwdriver, and spare parts are readily available from the manufacturer. Unfortunately, Fairphone 5 is not officially sold in Ukraine.
The second place in the ranking of the most repairable smartphones in 2023 was taken by the Pixel 8 Pro, spare parts for which are available on iFixit. However, you will still need some tools to disassemble the gadget, such as a heat gun to loosen the display glue.
Nelson called ASUS ROG Phone 7 Ultimate the least repairable smartphone. It has three separate circuit boards, two batteries, and a huge amount of ribbon cables combined with glue and screws.
However, ROG Phone 7 Ultimate won the title of the most innovative smartphone. The device is equipped with a motorized lid that opens to reveal the copper radiator from the cooling system.
Nelson called the mid-range Pixel 7a the most durable phone of 2023 due to its polycarbonate back panel. The blogger also noted the ease of repairing Google‘s Pixel Fold.
