The day before, Karin Jean-Pierre, who has the status of a representative of the White House, reported that the information about the Russian Armed Forces receiving Iranian drones was confirmed. On August 19, cargo aircraft belonging to Russia took off from Tehran with Shahed and Mohajer-6 drones on board.
According to the statement of Vedant Patel from the State Department, the occupiers intend to use the acquired aircraft in the war against Ukraine. The official emphasized that the Russian army is experiencing an acute shortage of UAVs. They are not produced in the Russian Federation in sufficient quantities to conduct hostilities.
According to military experts, the Russians have high hopes for Iranian drones. They plan to use them to destroy the HIMARS missile systems in service with the Armed Forces. Strikes with the help of high-precision GMLRS rocket shells cause huge damage to the occupiers. Their arsenals ‘take off’ into the air along the entire front line.
In general, experts doubt that Iranian drones are capable of bypassing modern air defense equipment. In fact, under such conditions as in Ukraine, they have never been exploited.
