“It’s only a few minutes”: How long it takes for Dagger to reach Ukrainian cities (infographic)
After the launch of the Russian Daggers, people have little time to take cover, so the air raid is often announced preventively.
The Kinzhal aerial ballistic missiles used by the Russian Federation’s Armed Forces to attack Ukraine can reach Ukrainian cities in a few minutes. The corresponding infographic was shared by the UA War Infographics Telegram channel on December 14.
The Daggers are reported to be capable of reaching speeds of up to 3,400 m/s and hitting targets at distances of up to 2,000 kilometers. The carrier of these missiles is the Russian MiG-31K fighter jet.
“If such a missile is launched, people all over Ukraine have only a couple of minutes to take cover, and this is objectively not enough to hide. That’s why the alert is often announced preventively,” the publication explains.
The channel’s authors also published the time of the Daggers’ approach to a number of Ukrainian cities:
- Kharkiv – 1.7 minutes;
- Poltava – 2.4 minutes;
Dnipro – 2.7 minutes; - Chernihiv – 2.7 minutes;
- Kyiv – 3.2 minutes;
- Vinnytsia – 4.1 minutes;
- Starokonstantyniv – 4.4 minutes;
- Odesa – 4.5 minutes;
- Lviv – 5.4 minutes;
- Uzhhorod – 6.3 minutes;
As a reminder, on December 14, the Russian Armed Forces launched a missile attack on Starokonstantinov during an air raid. A representative of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ihnat, said that the occupants tried to strike at a military facility.
