Kawasaki presents laser system for destroying UAVs and missiles at DSEI Japan
DSEI Japan exhibition has recently opened in Japan. According to Shepard Media, it featured a laser anti-drone system designed by Kawasaki Heavy Industries.
The UAV destruction system includes a tracking scanner, gimbal, high-energy laser, and 2 kW power supply. It uses an infrared camera to detect targets.
The anti-drone system was mounted by Kawasaki Heavy Industries engineers in the body of a Mule Pro-FX. This all-terrain vehicle is in service with the Japanese airborne forces. Heavy wheeled trucks weighing 24.8 tons will be used to transport a larger modification of the anti-drone system. In the future, anti-drone systems can be installed on Aegis destroyers. The manufacturer does not disclose the technical characteristics of the unusual weapon.
