“Lightning assault operation”: Ukrainian Armed Forces liberate part of Opytne near Avdiivka – Ministry of Defense
Ukrainian defenders liberated part of Opytne village near Avdiivka in Donetsk region.
This was reported by Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar.
“There was movement in the area of Opytne, and the Defense Forces occupied a part of the settlement,” said Malyar.
According to her, Ukrainian troops also achieved partial success in the Novomayorsk area of Donetsk region last week.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are now gaining ground in areas where they had previously been successful.
Earlier, the General Staff stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted successful offensive operations and advanced on the Avdiivka-Donetsk line.
According to Vitaliy Barabash, head of the Avdiivka city military administration, on September 10, two days ago, when the occupiers were concentrated north of Avdiivka, “the guys conducted a lightning assault operation” and occupied part of Opytne, after which they gained a foothold in the area.
