Like Lego: the British showed an unusual affordable electric car (photo)

Helixx is developing several electric models on its platform. The first prototype offers a 2,100-liter trunk and is capable of carrying cargo weighing up to 500 kg.

The British company Helixx has shown a prototype of its electric van for transportation. The main feature of the new product is its unusual modular design. This was reported on the Carscoops website.

In total, Helixx plans to create several commercial vehicles based on its platform. The first model has a minimalist design and compact dimensions.

The front has compact headlights and C-shaped daytime running lights. There are vertical separate lights on the rear.

The body of the electric vehicle is made of recycled polymer and consists of five parts. Thanks to this, the production process was simplified by 50%. This assembly method also significantly reduces the cost of car production.

The individual body parts are glued together to form a one-piece structure. This made it possible to abandon stamped metal panels.

The van is built on an aluminum chassis and offers a 2100-liter luggage compartment. The load capacity is 500 kg.

A removable lithium-iron-phosphate battery is responsible for powering the powertrain. According to Helixx, it will allow the van to operate continuously for 24 hours.

The British company’s electric cars will be available by subscription. They will be available for rent for only $0.25 per hour.
