Lockheed Martin shows unique footage of Israeli missiles paired with Apache attack helicopters (video)

Lockheed Martin reported on the results of testing Israeli Spike NLOS missiles paired with Apache V6 attack helicopters. They took place at the Yuma Test Site in Arizona.

The defense manufacturer’s website states that successful live firing at the test site proved that Spike NLOS is suitable for launching from US attack helicopters.

The tests in Arizona lasted five days. A total of eight Israeli missiles were launched from Apache V6 helicopters at various targets. In the middle of next year, helicopter pilots will be trained to operate the system. By early fall, Spike NLOS will be integrated with 18 Apache Echo Model V6 platforms.

It’s worth noting that V6 is one of the newest modifications of Apache. Helicopters of this version are equipped with additional sensors. In addition, they use more modern software.

In early October, the first flight of the Apache V6.5 helicopter was announced. This was reported by the Boeing Corporation. The machine has optimized flight route and attack planning functions.

Initially, the Spike NLOS missiles were considered by the Pentagon leadership as a temporary option for the Apache fleet. After successfully hitting a target at a distance of 32 km in 2021, a decision was made to use Israeli missiles on a regular basis.
