MacPaw launched an application for the team’s daily checks in wartime
The Ukrainian company MacPaw has developed an application for daily checks of team specialists in wartime – together App. This is reported by AIN with reference to representatives of MacPaw.
How it works
The Together App is publicly available on GitHub at the link. With the app, companies can make sure that everyone on their team is safe, as well as find out if someone needs help.
To use the app in a team, you will need: Slack Workspace, 1 hour to set up, 7 7 per month on the Heroku App. Every day, the bot in Slack sends messages to employees asking them to check in before 12:00 and provide information about:
- location (approximate, not exact);
- how you feel;
- opportunity to participate in the work.
The interactive map allows you to see the location of colleagues in real time, understand if someone needs help, and also team up with those who are nearby, MacPaw adds.
“The Together App helps teams stay united and support each other in difficult times. Mapa also coordinates logistics and humanitarian assistance. For example, you can quickly see which of your colleagues is currently in Nikolaev to help me coordinate the evacuation. So that no one is left behind, because we must stick together,” comments Ray East, MacPaw product manager and one of the app’s developers.
The company notes that for security reasons, only the coordinates of cities are stored in the database, and not the exact location. At the same time, if desired, people can opt out of checkins or ask not to display their location on the shared map.
